Cut Copy: Zonoscope 2011

In Ghost Colours cementerade den australiensiska trion Cut Copy som en global sensation, och med Zonoscope har de gjort sitt mest ambitiösa alster hittills. Efter att tidigare producerats av Philippe Zdar (Cassius) och Tim Goldsworthy (DFA) har Cut Copy här tagit steget vidare och på egen hand producerat en lika fantastisk sammansmältning av melankolisk pop och extatisk dansmusik. Albumet spelades in under en sexmånaders period i en lagerlokal bandet hyrde i Melbourne och mixades i Atlanta av Ben H Allen (Animal Collective, Gnarls Barkley, Deerhunter). Bandets frontman Dan Whitford beskriver arbetet med plattan: ""All the way along we had this weird vision of a tropical, jungle, tribal sound. A place or an idea that we wanted to reach with some of the songwriting; to explore a looping hypnotic trance and revise the whole palette of what Cut Copy was about.""
